Why Group Classes?

Group classes are a new offering at Trans Voice Lessons. We were attracted to the idea of a group learning experience because it provides students with several learning benefits that can be difficult to find with private lessons or self-study. Some of the most prominent benefits include feelings of community, a sense of accountability, and maybe most importantly: the opportunity to hear a group of different voices learning and demonstrating the same things. We are also able to provide more hours of instruction for less cost to each individual student with this format.

What Are Group Classes Like?

Our group classes are designed to provide each student with the knowledge and experience they need to confidently practice  controlling various aspects of their voices.

Cohorts meet once a week for the duration of the course (4 weeks/6 weeks/12 weeks). Group sessions will be postponed should they fall on major US holidays.

Each group session is scheduled to last for 1 hour and 40 minutes. In a typical session, approximately the first 30 minutes will be spent on lecture and ear training, and the remaining time will be spent in small groups of up to 9 students and one instructor. In these small groups, the instructor will work with each student to ensure they are exploring the current subject effectively. Occasionally, a class may be dedicated entirely to 1-on-1 sessions for each student in order to help address their individual needs.

We will also use Canvas to provide weekly check-ins and practice assignments to provide assistance and encourage practice through accountability.

Who Are The Instructors?

Group classes are taught by Zheanna Erose, Clover Grigsby, and guest instructor Hearth Da Silva.
